Lyrics |
I don't need to run any more
And I don't need to hide
Shame and guilt are fading away
And I feel a healing power inside
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing into my life
We've got peace, love and acceptance
Got a joy that doesn't need to fade away
We've got peace, love and acceptance
We've got a reason to live
We've got a reason to say
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing in me today
Many voices telling me what to be
With expectations beyond reality
My soul escapes to the secret place
And I find relief in your saving grace
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing in me today
We've got peace, love and acceptance
Got a joy that doesn't need to fade away
We've got peace, love and acceptance
We've got a reason to live
We've got a reason to say
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing in me today
I've been running from the world on this
Turning my back on that burning bush
Yet in this place of my brokeness
I find new love and obedience
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing in me today
We've got peace, love and acceptance
Got a joy that doesn't need to fade away
We've got peace, love and acceptance
We've got a reason to live
We've got a reason to say
I sense the fragrence of forgiveness
Flowing in me today

A Bit of Trivia |
Simon Orsborn had a few Christian Rock songs he had written and wanted to do something with them. DK offered to help and so the two spent several days putting together the basis for the song, with SO playing the guitar, and DK working on some MIDI programmng.
The final result worked surprisingly well, but it wasn't until DK was in the UK in 2000 that the song eventually got mixed and finalised, with DK adding some backing vocals to add a sense of completeness.
The vocal style always reminds me of Cat Stevens, for some reason.
