Lyrics |
Why don't you say what's on your mind
And save us both some time
'Cos I really would like to get some
Sleep tonight
Well, are you gonna settle for second best
And forget about all the rest
Either way, it don't matter
'Cos I ain't gonna put up a fight
Well, I ain't asking for the world
And I ain't gonna make you my girl
I'm just feeling in need of some
Pleasant company
Now I can see that look in your eye
But baby, don't get your hopes up too high
'Cos I'm not thinking of the future
Past morning for you and me
But I could be wrong!
There's been many a time and many a song
And I could be wrong
It all depends how we get along!
Well you're the prettiest thing in the room
And you know that I'll be leaving soon
And whether you come with me
Well that's the choice that you've gotta make
So while you take some time to think
I'll just quietly finish this drink
You know, gambling on a one night stand
Is the chance that you take
But I could be wrong!
There's been many a time and many a song
And I could be wrong
It all depends how we get along!
Tell me what you're thinking
'Cos I can't read your mind
if you're not feeling what I'm feeling
Then let's not waste our time

A Bit of Trivia |
The majority of the band had never heard this song until they received their copy of the CD as it was basically a collaboration between DK and the bass player, Steve Norris.
The main bulk of the song was created on the computer, with live guitars and vocals.
As an experiment, I guess it works fine, but the song will never be considered as one of the better pieces of music ever created.
The lyrics at the end should have actually been a lot longer, but when trying to record the vocals, DK found it impossible to hit the notes required, and so the idea was scrapped!
