Lyrics
Somewhere in the distance a telephone rang
Somewhere in the distance Pavarotti sang
Somewhere in a dream I heard a baby cry
Somewhere in a dream I saw an image die
Somewhere in the night a jukebox played
Somewhere in the night is where I should have stayed

Somewhere in my mind is the situation
Somewhere in my mind is the desperation
Somewhere is the key and the answers I need
Somewhere is the key to my emotional greed
Somewhere in this song is a meaningful line
Somewhere in this song I should see the signs

Somewhere in the lies I found a fact remained
Somewhere in the lies I found I'd caused some pain
Somewhere in my fear is the terrible truth
Somewhere in my fear I can find the proof
Somewhere in our life is the message we send
Somewhere in our life it'll come to an end

Somewhere in my fate lies destiny's hand
Somewhere in my fate is that grain of sand
Somewhere I can find that I've made a mistake
Somewhere I can find some pills to take
Somewhere in this maze I can see the way out
Somewhere in this maze I'll dismiss the doubt

Somewhere in my thoughts was a twist of fate
Somewhere in my thoughts it all came too late
Somewhere in the hurt I found a helping hand
Somewhere in the hurt the revenge was planned
Somewhere through this haze is the end of the night
Somewhere through this haze I should see the light

Somewhere through the night you will come to me
Somewhere through the night I will make you see
Somewhere in the moment was a heated exchange
Somewhere in the moment was a promise of change
Somewhere in her mood was a pendulum swing
Somewhere in her mood I won't feel a thing....

A Bit of Trivia
The music for this song was actually created a long time ago, not long after DK acquired his first PC, with the basis beng just to make as much noise as possible!

Some time in mid-1993, DK had written some lyrics but didn't know what to do with them. As it turned out, the phrasing and style of the words seemed ideally suited to the music, and so the two were melded together and the song was born.

The recording was eventually made at DK's house in Rode Road, Chermside, and a lot of time was spent trying to get the effects right, although they probably went a bit too far, in reality.
