Lyrics |
The party's all over, the people long gone
No reason for waiting, now that we're all alone
Where the mood takes us is where we should be
The night is still young and our time is so free
Your touch is electric, your eyes shine like stars
The sound of the night is like a thousand guitars
I'm hearing sweet music, this must be our song
It's something that tells me this is where we belong
Lying beside you in the glow of the night
The smile in your eyes tells me everything's right...

A Bit of Trivia |
This is the second episode of the three part trilogy that describes the events several days after Part 1 of the series, which occurred on New Years Eve 1982.
You can use your imagination.
This was one of the first attempts at using a computer to compose a song - and it shows.
It was created on an old Commodore Amiga 500 using a program called Bars and Pipes, one of the better pieces of software of the time.
Unfortunately, inexperience in using the software and the nuances of MIDI meant that the song came out very clunky and has no dynamics, basically because the settings were all set to full for every note, thereby giving no variety or subtlety to the sound.
As an experiment, it could probably be considered as a failure.
