Lyrics |
Sometimes when we're together
All I wanna do is look into your eyes
Sometimes when we're together
All I wanna do is fall into your wild blue ocean
The way I feel now, I never want to lose
The ache in my heart when we say goodbye
Tells me how much you mean
Sometimes we need each other
All you gotta do is call and I'll be there
Sometimes we need each other
All you gotta to do is call to know that I'll come running
The way I feel now I never want to lose
The ache in my heart when we say goodbye
Tells me how much you mean
Sometimes when there is doubt
Sometimes when there is pain
Sometimes when I'm alone
The warmth of you remains with me
Just hold me in your arms girl, never let me go
That’s all I'll ever ask of you
Just hold me in your arms girl, never let me go
Never let me run away
The way I feel now I never want to lose
The ache in my heart when we say goodbye
Tells me how much you mean

A Bit of Trivia |
The basic lyrics to this song were written a long time before it was even thought of putting music to it.
A friend of the bass player, a guy we knew as Jesse Parker, although that wasn't his real name, came to a practice session one day and read the lyrics and thought it would make a good basis for a song.
At that point, only the first verse was written, but Jesse added some chords to it and we played around with the melody.
After the rehearsal session, DK wrote another verse, the chorus and the bridge and it turned out to be one of the better songs we had created.
When we were recording it, the Engineer, Mick Borkowski, suggested that we should add some saxophone to the song as it seemed to suit it. He had had contact with a band called The Blowhards, who were fairly popular at the time around Brisbane, so contacted one of the girls in the band, who I have only ever known as Rowanne, and arranged for us to meet.
We gave her a copy of the song on tape and asked her to work out a sax part for it.
As it turned out, she never got to listen to the tape because of one thing or another, but she arrived at the studio at the appointed time, listened to the track a couple of times and basically played what you hear first take.
I guess that's what you get when you have the talent and are a professional!
It was probably the best 50 bucks we ever spent!
The song has turned out to be probably the best song we ever recorded.
