Lyrics
You've toyed with my emotions
That one time too often
Now it seems to me
There's no other choice
We talked for half the night
Talked till we were empty
No matter what I said
You never heard my voice

The tears that I've cried
Are lost on our pillow
And all I have are memories
Of the time that we shared
Now that's gone forever
I can still remember
It's hard to watch you now
Pretending not to care

Love of mine
It's time for goodbye
You turned away
You won't see me cry
We've had our time
We know that we tried
Sweet love of mine
It's time for goodbye

I'm lying here in silence
Thinking of the past
Wondering how it is
I'm a loser once again
All my hopes and dreams
Feels like they've been wasted
If we were still together
Would things turn out the same?

Love of mine
It's time for goodbye
You turned away
You won't see me cry
We've had our time
We know that we tried
Sweet love of mine
It's time for goodbye

A Bit of Trivia
The lyrics to this song are based on the circumstances that were occurring at DK's brother Phil's house in Aspley in about 1991.

Phil, at the time, was living with his then girlfriend, Suzie, but they had been having a bit of trouble in the relationship and had decided to have a break from each other for a while.

DK wrote the lyrics while sitting in their son's bedroom one night, as an argument raged outside in the kitchen.

It was decided that it would be interesting to have it sung by a female as it would give the song a different perspective from the rest of the album, and so Jenni was recruited to sing.
