SOLITUDE
The wind whistles
overhead
I cover my ears
I shut my eyes
Still
I hear its call
its moan
within the confines
of my mind
I turn away
from its hold
yet it finds me
even as I struggle away
It beckons
so temptingly
opening its arms
to enclose me
I look away
and yet I ride
down the path
of solitude
I try to return
where distant sunbeams fall
But I cannot
and now I tread
so solemnly
down the Path
of Solitude...
