THE DRAGONS
The dragons lay
beneath my feet
spent and weary
lying, dying

The fires doused
the flames no more
the great wings folding
beneath the heartbeat
of a stone

Shall you arise again
my heart?
To wreak havoc
against the walls
To fly against
the moon?
Perhaps not
perhaps not

The dragons lay
beneath my feet
lying, dying
spent and weary
dying, dying...
