If Love is all that matters
then you matter the most
I may not say the things
that you needed to hear
I may not do the things
that you needed to see
but though some things are unspoken
they are in no way negligible
chances given, like summer rain
welcome and warm in its comfort
defined still by chances taken
calling for trust, bidden by Time
If Love is all that matters
then Luck had been a Lady to me
and my chances were kindly given
in your silence
I have found campfire nights
in your patience
I have found lit candles
in your love
I have found home
and passion and twilight hours
If Love is all that matters
then let me matter the most
yet ask not for promises that I cannot keep
Hope is a best known friend
yet Time changes the Seasons
and Spring soon reaches to Autumn
let my love matter most
as your love matters the best
let it be the here and now
the morrow will take care of itself
and if hearts are broken by tomorrow's end
remember that you were all that mattered
with a love that mattered most
